2. Scope of Services
2.1 The Company provides professional carpet cleaning and related services to residential and commercial Clients within its service area. The exact scope of work for each Booking will be agreed in advance based on information provided by the Client.
2.2 The Company reserves the right to modify, refuse or discontinue any Service if it is unsafe, impractical or outside the agreed scope, including where access is restricted, utilities are unavailable, or the Premises are not reasonably prepared for the visit.
2.3 Any additional work requested on arrival at the Premises, and not included in the original Booking, will be subject to availability, may incur additional charges and may require a further appointment.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be made through our website contact form or via other communication channels made available by the Company from time to time.
3.2 When making a Booking, the Client must provide accurate and complete information, including property type, approximate room sizes or number of areas, type and condition of carpets, access details, and any known issues such as stains, damage or infestation.
3.3 All Bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Company. A Booking is only deemed confirmed when the Client has received clear confirmation from the Company, which may include a date, approximate time window and price estimate or quotation.
3.4 The Company may request photographs or additional information to provide an accurate quotation and to prepare for the Booking. Failure to provide requested information may affect service delivery and pricing.
3.5 The Client is responsible for ensuring that a person over 18 years of age is present at the Premises for the duration of the visit, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Pricing and Quotations
4.1 The Company may provide quotations based on information supplied by the Client before the visit. Quotations are typically given as fixed prices or estimates, depending on the nature of the job.
4.2 If, on arrival, the actual condition or size of the carpets or areas significantly differs from the description provided, the Company reserves the right to adjust the price accordingly or to decline to proceed with the Service.
4.3 Any promotional pricing, discounts or special offers are subject to specific terms and may be withdrawn or amended at any time at the Companys discretion. Such offers cannot be used in combination unless expressly stated.
4.4 All prices are stated in pounds sterling and, unless otherwise indicated, are inclusive of applicable taxes.
5. Payments
5.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of Booking. The Company may require payment in full or in part prior to or on the day of service.
5.2 Accepted payment methods will be communicated to the Client in advance and may include card payments, bank transfer, or other methods offered by the Company from time to time.
5.3 Where payment is not received on the day of service for consumer Clients, the Company may withhold or suspend Services until payment is made or satisfactory arrangements are agreed.
5.4 For business Clients with credit arrangements, invoices are payable within the agreed period stated on the invoice. If no period is stated, invoices are due within 14 calendar days from the invoice date.
5.5 The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue sums in accordance with applicable UK legislation, along with reasonable costs incurred in recovering unpaid amounts.
6. Access and Client Obligations
6.1 The Client must ensure safe and reasonable access to the Premises at the agreed time, including any necessary parking arrangements and permits where applicable.
6.2 The Client is responsible for moving fragile, valuable or easily damaged items from the areas to be cleaned, and for securing personal belongings. The Company will not move heavy furniture or appliances unless this has been agreed in advance and can be done safely.
6.3 The Client must ensure that electricity and water are available at the Premises during the visit. If these are not available, the Company may be unable to carry out the Services, and a cancellation or call-out fee may be charged.
6.4 The Client must inform the Company of any known hazards, including loose floor coverings, electrical issues, allergies, or health and safety risks.
7. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Call-Out Charges
7.1 The Client may cancel or reschedule a Booking by giving the Company reasonable notice. The minimum notice period required, and any associated charges, will be confirmed at the time of Booking.
7.2 If the Client cancels or reschedules with less than the agreed minimum notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full value of the Booking, to cover administration and lost time.
7.3 If the Company is unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if the Premises are not in a suitable state for the Services to be carried out, this may be treated as a late cancellation and a call-out fee may apply.
7.4 The Company may cancel or reschedule a Booking due to reasons beyond its control, including illness, severe weather, equipment failure, or other circumstances rendering performance impracticable. In such cases, the Company will offer an alternative appointment. The Company will not be liable for any consequential loss arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.
8. Service Standards and Limitations
8.1 The Company will perform the Services with reasonable care and skill, using methods and products suitable for professional carpet cleaning in the UK.
8.2 While every effort will be made to remove stains and odours, the Company cannot guarantee the removal of all marks, particularly where they are old, set-in, caused by certain substances, or where the carpet or fabric is damaged or worn.
8.3 The Client acknowledges that certain materials may be unsuitable for specific cleaning methods. The Company relies on the information provided by the Client and on labels or manufacturer instructions where available. The Company accepts no responsibility where damage arises from false, incomplete or missing information.
8.4 Slight colour changes, shading, or texture differences may occur after cleaning, particularly where carpets are heavily soiled or sun-faded. Such changes are considered normal and do not constitute damage or service failure.
8.5 The Client must follow any aftercare advice provided, including ventilation and drying times. The Company is not liable for damage or accidents occurring because carpets or areas were walked on or used before properly dry.
9. Complaints and Rectification
9.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, they must notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible, giving clear details of the concern.
9.2 Where a complaint relates to the quality of the cleaning, the Client should raise it within a reasonable time after completion and must allow the Company an opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, to attempt rectification.
9.3 The Company will investigate complaints in good faith and, where a shortfall in service is identified, may at its discretion offer a re-clean of the affected area, a partial refund, or another appropriate remedy, taking into account all circumstances.
10. Liability
10.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UK law.
10.2 Subject to the above, the Companys total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount paid or payable by the Client for the specific Booking giving rise to the claim.
10.3 The Company is not liable for:
a. Pre-existing damage, wear, discolouration or defects, including loose seams, fraying edges or shrinkage resulting from prior conditions or past cleaning.
b. Loss or damage arising from inaccurate information provided by the Client, including failure to disclose material facts such as fibre type, previous treatments or known vulnerabilities.
c. Any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss of use of the Premises.
10.4 The Client is responsible for ensuring that any valuable, sentimental or fragile items are removed or properly protected before the Services commence. The Company will take reasonable care but does not accept liability for minor cosmetic damage or wear resulting from normal cleaning processes.
11. Health, Safety and Environmental Practices
11.1 The Company adheres to applicable health and safety requirements when carrying out Services. Clients must cooperate with any safety instructions or reasonable requests made by the Companys personnel.
11.2 Cleaning products and equipment are selected to be effective and suitable for the intended purpose. Safety data sheets are available on request for products used by the Company.
11.3 Clients must inform the Company of any allergies, sensitivities or specific concerns relating to cleaning agents before the start of the Service so that suitable precautions may be taken where reasonably possible.
12. Waste Handling and Regulations
12.1 The Company complies with relevant UK waste and environmental regulations when handling wastewater, residues and other waste arising from its Services.
12.2 Where practical, wastewater from cleaning activities will be disposed of via appropriate drainage at the Premises, in accordance with local requirements and without causing pollution or obstruction. The Client agrees to allow use of such drainage for this purpose.
12.3 The Company is not responsible for the disposal of large quantities of Client waste, such as old carpets, underlay, furnishings or other items, unless this has been expressly agreed in advance as an additional service and may be subject to separate charges and regulatory requirements.
12.4 The Client agrees not to request or permit the Companys personnel to dispose of any substances or materials in a way that breaches environmental or waste regulations. The Company reserves the right to refuse to handle or dispose of any substance it reasonably believes to be hazardous or non-compliant.
13. Insurance
13.1 The Company maintains appropriate insurance cover in line with its business activities, including public liability insurance to a level it considers reasonably adequate.
13.2 Evidence of insurance or details of cover may be made available to Clients on reasonable request.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
14.1 The Company collects and processes personal data solely for the purpose of managing Bookings, delivering Services, processing payments, and handling enquiries or complaints.
14.2 Personal data is handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. The Company will not sell or share Client data with unrelated third parties except where necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, or with the Clients consent.
14.3 Clients are responsible for ensuring that the contact details they provide are accurate and up to date. The Company is not liable for issues arising from inaccurate or outdated information supplied by the Client.
15. Force Majeure
15.1 The Company is not liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such delay or failure results from events or circumstances beyond its reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, power outages, transport disruptions, pandemics, strikes, or acts of government.
15.2 In such cases, the Company will use reasonable efforts to notify the Client and to reschedule the Services when conditions allow.
16. Variation of Terms
16.1 The Company may update or vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the Booking will apply to that Booking.
16.2 Any specific variations or special terms agreed in writing between the Client and the Company shall take precedence over these general terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
17.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
17.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services.
18. General Provisions
18.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
18.3 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services, and supersede any prior understandings or representations, whether oral or written, not expressly incorporated herein.
By making a Booking or using the Services of Carpet Cleaning Paddington, the Client confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
